OUR PROJECT SELECTION CRITERIA & HOW TO RECOMMEND NEW PROJECTS

We take project selection seriously and require high standards of impact and transparency. The money that we give to projects comes from our members and our sustainability consulting business, so we treat it with the utmost respect. Put simply, we categorically don’t want any of it going to waste.

We evaluate all of our projects against the below framework:

  • DIRECT & MEASURABLE IMPACT - it goes without saying that projects have to make a difference. We need to understand the direct and tangible impacts.
  • WIDER SDG IMPACT -  we prefer projects that provide broad benefits and support multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To us, being narrow in impact or mindset doesn’t work.
  • TRANSPARENT - an open relationship is key. The project needs to know what it’s getting from us and our members, and we in turn need to know the impact that our support is having.
  • INSPIRATIONAL - we want projects that inspire people to get involved. Stories matter - we want to know about the impact in terms of people and communities, as well as numbers.
  • REAL RELATIONSHIPS - we want to know the people we’re partnering with. What they’re about and why they do what they do.

If they fall shorten these measures, they don’t make the cut. If they pass, we begin an extensive due diligence and partnership evaluation process.

We’re always interested in getting recommendations for new projects to support so hit us up at enquires@carbonjacked.com if you have decent ideas.
